Details of Program
- Interviews for prospective candidates will be arranged by the summer program committee and their prospective supervisors.
如果有需要，我們會為同學們安排與可能的指導老師面談的機會。 - The Summer Student program will begin on 1 July and end on 30 August 2008.
2008 年的暑期學生專題研究計畫由七月1日開始至八月30日止。 - The stipend is NT$20,000 per month, and will be paid in four portions at the middle and the end of July and August respectively. All the students with ROC citizenship will be included in Labor Insurance Program provided by ROC government. According to Labor Insurance Act (Article 16), the insured person has to pay a portion of the premium. That self-paid portion is about NT$261 per month for each student, which will be deducted from the stipend and be paid together with the employer's portion to the insurer.
工作薪資為每位同學每月兩萬元，在七月及八月的月中及月底分四次發放。本國籍學生依照勞保條例均應加入勞保,保險費用每月約兩百六十一元需由薪資扣除。 - Students are expected to join all academic activities at the ASIAA, including seminars and colloquia, as well as a lecture series designed for the students.
參與計畫的同學應該儘量參加本所的各項學術活動，包括專題討論，學術演講，以及特別為暑期同學們設計的系列演講課程。 - Students requesting casual leave are expected to make up for this time after the program formally concludes. All casual leave should be approved by the supervisor.
在這段期間內，如有事故必須離開或請假，應先徵得指導老師的同意。並且應該和指導老師商量，如何利用計畫結束之後的時間來補足，繼續完成您的專題研究。 - All students are required to give an oral report of their research project at the conclusion of the program, and to provide a written report (in English) suitable for the WEB.
暑期結束前，應就研究的題目做全所公開的報告，口頭報告必須用英文進行。此外，同學應提供一份適合在網頁上閱讀的英文書面報告，介紹自己的暑期研究計畫和成果。 - Outstanding students have the opportunity to continue working at the ASIAA under a paid studentship.
暑期結束後，表現特別優異的同學可以繼續申請在本所工讀，酬金另計。 - Overseas students are welcome to apply, but please pay attention to special procedures, such as VISA and stipend (note: foreign students who are studying in Universities in Taiwan can only get monthly stipend of NT4000, unless you have working permit).
外籍學生亦歡迎申請，不過請注意一些特殊的程序，如簽證申請及獎助金（例如在臺灣就讀大學的外籍生，除非有工作證，獎助金上限為每月新台幣4000元整）。

不論錄取與否，我們都十分歡迎所有有興趣的同學來參加所裡面安排的演講等各項活動，並踴躍提出您的問題。由於所內資源有限，各計畫的進度與要求也會隨時間改變，如果不幸未能錄取，也有可能是今年剛好沒有適合您專長興趣或期望的計畫。我們還是歡迎您明年再試一試，或是透過其他方式來參與天文所的研究或活動。
