Software Engineer position at ASIAA
Closing Date: November 30, 2015
Introduction
A full-time software engineer position is available to work on software development and data management for the Greenland Telescope Project (GLT). The Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) group at ASIAA is working on the GLT project in collaboration with international partners, the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) with Sub-millimeter Array (SMA), and the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope in Hawaii, to observe directly the supermassive black holes for the first time. Under the EHT collaboration, the VLBI group is further joining in the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) Phase-up Project (APP), for which our roles are the developments of the DiFX (Distributed FX-style software correlator) enhancement and the VLBI data simulator. For these projects, the VLBI group is looking for a software engineer who is interested in astronomy and is willing to learn VLBI techniques.
