Software engineer on the software of astronomical image analysis and visualization

The Position

We are looking for enthusiastic software developers to join an international team including ASIAA, NRAO (USA), IDIA (South Africa), and University of Alberta (Canada) to develop a next generation tool for astronomical image analysis and visualization.
Positions include
  • backend developer
  • frontend developer
  • test developer

Software features:

  • interactive webapp
  • client-server architecture
  • high performance computing

  • familiar with Linux / Unix development environments (backend, frontend, test)
  • network socket knowledge or development experience (backend, frontend, test)
  • object-oriented programming (OOP) in C++ (backend)
  • fluent JavaScript (frontend, test)
  • fluent (OOP) Python (backend, test)
  • good communication skills (backend, frontend, test)

Required Education

Applicants can be of any nationality, and must have obtained their BS, BSc or BEng or equivalent degree in Information Technology related fields.
For applicants who do not hold citizenship of the Taiwan (the Republic of China), an MS, MSc, MEng equivalent or higher academic degree is mandatory.

Salary and Benefit

A competitive salary ***based on education and experience*** will be offered.
The minimum Starting Salary:
  • Bachelor's degree entry level salary: NT$32,315 per month
  • Master’s degree entry level salary: NT$37,300 per month

The "actual" starting salary is highly negotiable if the applicants are experienced in programming.
The year-end bonus is 1.5 month.
