Advisory Panel

ASIAA is officially still a preparatory office, which means that the major decisions, such as hiring, are made in fact by the Advisory Panel headed by Professor Frank Shu of UC San Diego. The advisory panel provides oversight of and advice to the ASIAA, and helps formulate the future planning of the institute.

Once a year, the advisory panel meets at the ASIAA when we make a presentation to them on what has been going on at the institute in the previous year and the current status of various projects, and future plans. Scientific activities and results are of course the primary goals of the institute. The major projects get presented at the meeting. The important individual scientific and technical activities have to be communicated to the panel as well. We normally hold the meeting before the end of March.
