At the center of galaxy, it is now thought that a super massive black hole (SMBH) is situated. By the strong gravity, SMBH attracts gas around it to generate an accretion disk and eject super-relativistic jets. Such galaxies are known as active galactic nuclei (AGN) and observed by telescopes of a wide range of wavelength from radio to gamma-ray. However, only radio astronomy is approaching to make direct images of SMBH using Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI).

In this home page, I hope you see some information on AGN and SMBH, and trials to understand them, struggling against them.
