The SMA successfully imaged the thermal dust emission at 0.85 mm from the 0.9 x 0.3 pc area of Orion Molecular Cloud-3 (OMC-3), which is located to the north of Orion nebula M42

Spatially Resolving Substructures within the Massive Protostellar Envelope in Orion
Blue shifted disk wind from HD 163296. The grey-scale shows the CO J=2-1 integrated intensity of the blue shifted wind from HD 163296. The 4σ level is indicated by the grey contour. The blue and red contours show the 15, 20 and 25 times the rms noise of the blue and red HCO+ J=4-3 emission in the disk. The inset image shows the first moment map of the HCO+ J=4-3 emission in the disk, with the same red and blue contours. The two black arcs show the primary beams of the 345 GHz (smaller) and 230 GHz (larger) observations. The cyan contours show 4, 6, and 8 times the rms noise in the CO J=3-2 emission. The two solid purple circles show the expected positions of Herbig Haro knots A2 and A3 in 2012. ALMA detection of the rotating molecular disk wind from the young star HD 163296
The CO J=3-2 channel map unveils for the first time at sub-millimeter frequencies the vertical structure details of a protoplanetary disks, showing the back and front side of the flared disk of HD163296

Integrated emission map of H13CO+ (4-3) with contours showing 3, 5 and 7 sigma (left), and DCO+ (5-4) with contours showing 3 and 5 sigma. The H13CO+ is centrally peaked onto the star whereas the DCO+ emission displays a ring, corresponding to the location of the CO snowline (the white contour indicate the location where the midplane temperature reach 19K (i.e. the CO freeze-out temperature).

Giant molecular clouds and star formation in the tidal molecular arm of NGC 4039
The discovered outflow lobe size (~1000 AU; left panel of the figure) is the smallest molecular outflow ever found in the intermediate-mass protostellar cores. The line width dramatically increases downstream at the end of the molecular outflow (right panel of Figure) and clearly shows the bow-shock-type velocity structure.

Highest angular resolution achieved with the SMA 850 micron continuum observations has revealed detailed spatial structures within a massive protostellar envelope, MMS 6.The observing data and detailed model comparisons clearly suggest that MMS 6 is one of the first cases of an intermediate-mass protostellar core at an extremely young stage.
