  • My main interest is in imaging technology and its applications with astronomy and/or other scientific fields. In particular, my work in the past has been mainly involved in signal detection and imaging in mm and sub-mm wavelength for astronomical purposes. Currently, I am particularly pursuing utilizing Taiwanese semiconductor technologies, such as CMOS and SiGe, for the purpose of signal detection and processing. High-speed data processing is also a key topic in developing a real-time radio imaging system.

    Professional Experience

    • Project management: Ongoing: The Greenland Telescope (GLT) project. Past Projects: SMA, ALMA- Taiwan, AMiBA, SMA
    • The take-over of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope for the East Asia Observatory
    • Management and leadership in international research organization. Scientific project management in the scale of tens of millions USD. Leader of a technical team of 20+ engineers and instrumentation scientists.
    • Long-term collaborations with US, Japan, Australia, Korea, and China colleagues.
    • Designing and building millimeter and sub-mm receiver and telescopes.
    • Knowledge and hand-on experience: microwave and MMIC technology, cryogenics, photonics, CFRP, parallel kinematic, etc.
